There are so many ways to connect and communicate now I feel like I'm working in a jungle, trying to figure out the best way to reach residents in Niwot about local issues that impact our community.
With the newly elected NCA board and the new year ahead, I hope to establish a clear communication…

As many of you know, a business has been inquiring about commercial space in Niwot for a Medical Marijuana Joint (MMJ). At the last NCA meeting we learned that property owners on 2nd Avenue and in Cottonwood Square had decided this type of business is not for our community!
The NCA would like to thank every property owner involved for making this tough decision.
This decision ensures that Niwot remains a safe, family friendly environment. We realize… Continue

The time may have come to consider incorporating the town of Niwot. We continure to suffer with taxation and regulation without representation. Since, the Boulder County Commissioners are elected at large, the shear numbers in the City of Boulder render our voices silent. The Commissoners can afford to ignore our concerns, redirect our tax dollars, and yawn at our property right issues. We need our own accountable representatives.

Dear Niwot Residents:
I have news that may be viewed favorably by
"Niwotians". We have a verbal agreement to relocate our Niwot
substation to the Mtn. View Fire Department on Niwot Road in January,
when our current lease has expired and we relocate most of our vehicles
and equipment to the new headquarters building. The new sub-station
will occupy a space on the north side of the fire station, with a
private entrance, (nearest to the road). It will be visible…

Much discussion has been taking place about the proposed park across from Whistle Stop Park. Residents in the area are mainly in support of the park and have complimented the landscape plans, but concern has been stated about the location of the restrooms. One resident stated
"We question the need for them at the Niwot Park, especially since there
will probably come a day when Whistle Stop Park will see the need
for permanent bathroom facilities. We think there is an opportunity…

As some of you are aware, Boulder County does not believe that they have
the responsibility or the money to resurface your residential streets.
The County states that they "maintain" the residential streets such as
snow plowing and pothole repair, but that they do not "rehabilitate"
the streets to insure their long-term viability. In 1995 this "policy"
was incorporated into the Boulder County…

Starting this month, the St Vrain Valley Board of Education is conducting a series of forums to provide information regarding how the State of Colorado’s expected budget deficit of $1.5 billion will impact education in our state and ultimately in our school district.

Niwot Community Association Alert
January 23, 2010
Overview
Last Spring the NCA sent out an Alert concerning the maintenance of local access roads which serve most subdivisions and other developments in Unincorporated Boulder County. For the last 15 years there has been a little known and even less understood policy that the County would "maintain" the roads which includes snow plowing and pothole repair but that the funding to "rehabilitate" (i.e. resurface) was the…

So yes - its Holiday time - and I'm FULL of foods that clog - not foods that clear. What do I mean? Well - when I choose food, I like to choose as if I'm eating for the next phase of my life. Where do I want my life to take me - what do I want 2010 to look like. How do I want to see myself and how to I want to feel? And yes - I know it's the holidays, and I don't need to be such a stickler. But throwing caution to the wind when I eat, can suddenly "pile on", and I don't want any January 1st…

There have been three known garage break-ins in the Waterford and Waterford Park area. One of the break-ins occurred through the dog door of the garage. Please be sure to close your garage door(s) and secure any entry into the garage.
A Boulder County Sheriff's officer advises the following:
* Keep doors locked
* Lock your car even when it is in the garage
* Have motion detector lights especially in the back outside
* If you have vehicles parked outside,…
