Garage Break-Ins and Thefts in Niwot

There have been three known garage break-ins in the Waterford and Waterford Park area. One of the break-ins occurred through the dog door of the garage. Please be sure to close your garage door(s) and secure any entry into the garage.

A Boulder County Sheriff's officer advises the following:

* Keep doors locked
* Lock your car even when it is in the garage
* Have motion detector lights especially in the back outside
* If you have vehicles parked outside, make sure they are locked and nothing visible left in them
* Secure dog doors - there are products that can prevent them from being opened from the outside
