Starting this month, the St Vrain Valley Board of Education is conducting a series of forums to provide information regarding how the State of Colorado’s expected budget deficit of $1.5 billion will impact education in our state and ultimately in our school district.
The first of these meetings occurred on January 19th where State Representative Jack Pommer spoke to a group of approximately 300 concerned parents, teachers, business owners and community members. He estimated the state legislature will reduce education related funding by as much as 10%. The corresponding budget cut to the St. Vrain Valley School District is expected to range between $11 and $15 million. The video of this session is available for viewing at

The St Vrain Valley Board of Education invites you to attend the second meeting scheduled for February 3rd. They would like to hear input from you, the many students, parents, employees, area business owners, and other stakeholders, that have a vested interest in education in our community.
Please mark your calendars and join us for this very important event. This is your chance to directly address those making decisions on behalf of our children and community as they implement these requisite budget reductions.
